Challenge: Meet international product demand with quality outsourced manufacturing |
|
|
With domestic production capacity severely limited in Italy, and the market demand for its shoes increasing exponentially, Gucci turned to ConsuLuxe for a strategic solution. |
Our designs integrated linen and jacquard fabrication and metal fitting, with fine leather trims and laces, as well as other materials and innovative construction methods. |
Manufacturing in Spain, Portugal, or Germany was not an option because of both political and labor factors. |
Finally, retailers in the huge American and Asian markets were able to present an adequate supply of the Gucci Collection. |
ConsuLuxe negotiated with the Haitian government to establish a production facility on the island, and train indigenous workers to make collections of shoes that integrated Gucci-type details and styling elements, but did not directly parallel the Italian-made shoes. |
A large percentage of the offer was fundamentally manufactured out of Italy – but indistinguishable by quality or source, from the core items produced in the factories surrounding Firenze. |
