Challenge: Develop and improve global-quality export products |
|
|
Greece has endured perennial economic and commercial hardship – long before its recent crisis. It is traditionally a country of small artisan businesses primarily catering to a consistently diminishing tourist trade. |
By working with local raw materials resources, artisan talents, and production facilities, alliances were formed to create numerous product collections that were deliberately designed and packaged to appeal to the needs, lifestyles, and aesthetics of foreign customers. |
Across Greek industry, an aspiration has always been to make quality products that would be appealing and purchased in other countries. |
Categories included, gourmet foods, lighting, giftware, metalwork, leather goods, textile products, ceramics/glass, and jewelry. |
Under the indirect auspices of Greece's Department of Agriculture, and supported by a private investment group, ConsuLuxe developed and implemented a program to achieve new and sustainable export businesses for participating small and medium-size companies located throughout the country. |
These products were then linked into appropriate and profitable channels of distribution in both Europe and the USA – where the image of Greece was transformed to become a viable exporter of quality products, within each new export market. |
